What is an Emissary?
An Emissary is a person who likes to be involved by helping others get involved; someone who believes in the mission and goals of an organization, who would serve as a hub of information in their area of the state.
An MNA Emissary is a vessel through which the MNA Mission and goals can be communicated to a larger audience statewide at special events, presenting to groups, and keeping up displays around the state. Become an Emissary today to actively promote the Mission of protecting Michigan's special natural areas.
How You Can Help
To improve word-of-mouth and raise awareness, MNA is looking for 5-10 volunteers to serve as organizational hubs of information and promotion in 2011. The Emissary will be responsible for attending some events and presentations in their area (e.g., resource fairs) and handing out MNA materials like newsletters and brochures.
The Emissary will have the unique opportunity to be a part of MNA’s growing communication efforts and see their time convert directly into membership. And promoting MNA will demonstrate dedication to the protection of land, resources and species that make Michigan such an amazing state. They will also receive a prize package from MNA partners and friends!
Volunteers should have good communication skills, have a close connection with their community, and share our love of protecting nature for future generations. If you are interested in becoming an MNA Emissary, please contact Johanna Swanson by emailing jswanson@michigannature.org or by calling (517) 655-5655.
