Funds Needed for Dowagiac Woods Addition MNA must raise $375,000 to cover the acquisition and endowment costs Dowagiac Woods is considered the “jewel in the crown” of MNA’s sanctuaries, and has been described as an outdoor museum crammed full of living things. When adjoining property became available in September 2008, MNA took advantage of this opportunity and purchased an additional 149 acres to expand the sanctuary, making it MNA’s largest sanctuary in the Lower Peninsula.
