Columbia
40 acres in Jackson County

Located at the intersection of Taylor Rd and Dearmyer east of Cement City, Columbia is a birders paradise. The southwest quarter consists of a wooded swamp and old lake bed which are used by great blue and green herons, swallows, woodpeckers, geese, and ducks.

Botanists will enjoy the area as well. A survey done by botanist Harvey Ballard Jr., found 150 native plants including: seven galiums, yellow wild indigo, and some rare sedges and rushes. The land was donated to MNA by Mason Schafer.
