Huntington Memorial
6 acres in Schoolcraft County
Located off Rice Road near the intersection of County Highways 433 and 436 and about eight miles east of Manistique, Huntington Memorial is named in memory of George Danforth Huntington, an ornithologist and botanist from Detroit.
The parcel is adjacent to Lake Superior State Forest and home to ground pine and moss-covered logs, and a variety of the birds George Huntington loved. Most numerous of these are the northern warblers whose songs fill these woods. |
