Located on the south banks on the Sturgeon River on the border of Baraga and Houghton County, the sanctuary is actually only reachable by Strugeon Rd in Baraga County, or by canoe from Bellaire Rd.

Regardless of how you get there, once there you will be in a section of old growth silver maples which somehow managed to avoid being logged.
