Twin Waterfalls
15.45 Acres in Alger County

The Michigan Nature Association's 100th Sanctuary is located near the intersection of Nestor Rd. and H-58 in Munising. This is one of five MNA locations found within a city limit. The sanctuary gets its name from two waterfalls found where Tannery and Memorial Creeks cross a sandstone escarpment on their way to Lake Superior. The falls are both dedicated in memory of long-time MNA members. Rudy Olsen, whom the Tannery Creek waterfall is named for, was active in MNA conducting numerous bird surveys and serving as a caretaker for Timberland Swamp in Oakland County.
